1 Dead In Friday Morning Shooting In West Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A 28-year-old man died in a shooting in west Birmingham early Friday morning. Dewayne Lenard Barnes of Birmingham was shot and killed just after 3 a.m. in the 4100 of Avenue M.

Officer Truman Fitzgerald of the Birmingham Police Department said Barnes was found dead in the road with a gunshot wound, but police have not determined the events leading to the shooting.
