Here are the top three stories in Birmingham today:

  1. East Precinct police are investigating after three teens were shot at a Birmingham house party over the weekend. When officers arrived at the scene early Sunday morning, they found an 18-year-old and 17-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds; a 16-year-old had been driven to the hospital earlier via a private vehicle. The injuries of the teens are said to be non-life-threatening. (AL.com)
  2. The Coca-Cola Company is looking for students who attend historically Black colleges and universities to apply for the Pay It Forward Program. Students that are selected will earn $2,000 and a week-long internship at Coca-Cola United in Birmingham. Those who wish to apply or learn more can do so here. (WBRC)
  3. Birmingham has a new social group in town, one that is built specifically for media professionals. The Birmingham Social Media Club (SMC) aims to offer networking, community service, professional education opportunities, and more. The first of SMC’s monthly meetings will be hosted on Feb. 22 at Carrigan’s Beer Garden. (Birmingham Times)
