Batteries Plus Opens New Location In Bessemer

BESSEMER, AL — A 25-year-old entrepreneur has opened a new Batteries Plus store in Bessemer. The new store, which opened Monday, is at 1400 Ninth Ave. North.

Batteries Plus, the nation’s largest and fastest-growing battery, light bulb, key fob and phone repair franchise, is owned and operated by local resident and entrepreneur Mahmoud Abusaleh.

Abusaleh opened his first business with the help of his dad when he was 22. Together, they operated a local gas station and were able to double its profits in the first year. Getting his feet wet in the business industry, Abusaleh decided to sell the gas station and wanted to own a business that would have a large impact on the community.

He said he saw the essential need that Batteries Plus fills in Bessemer and decided to embark on his next journey. At the age of 25, Abusaleh is the youngest person to own a Batteries Plus.
