Bessemer Shooting Is Jefferson County's 200th Homicide Of 2021

A 41-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday in Bessemer during an altercation with a family member.

BESSEMER, AL — A deadly shooting Thursday morning in Bessemer marked the 200th homicide in Jefferson County this year. The shooting occurred at 4:30 a.m. at a residence in the 500 block of 12th Street North, according to AL.com.

The victim, identified as 41-year-old Leremus Karzell Oden of Bessemer, was reportedly involved in an altercation with a family member before the shooting, the AL.com report said.
