  1. Next week, a Birmingham coffee shop will honor a civil rights leader with a "legacy blend." The Modern House Coffee Shop will be selling the legacy blend beginning on Feb. 1 — the start of Black History Month. Ten percent of each legacy blend sale will go toward the A.G. Gaston Business Institute. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
  2. A tow truck was caught on camera downtown damaging a legally parked car in a lot, along with the car it was towing. A couple who witnessed the mishap and recorded it stated that the driver did not leave a note or anything but instead "hurried up and tried to get through as fast as they could to get out of there." According to nearby restaurant owners, such as Neville Baay, one of the owners of El Barrio, the predatory towing has been going on for years. However, the City of Birmingham has said private parking lots have contracts with parking enforcement, not the city. (WBRC)
  3. On Thursday, a morning shooting ended with one woman injured and a man in custody. According to Officer Truman Fitzgerald, officers were called to the 3000 block of 31st Street North just after 8:00 a.m. for a report of a woman shot. Police found the suspect near where the shooting occurred and pursued the victim on foot before taking him to subdue him. The woman's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. (AL.com)
