Birmingham Legion FC Moving To Protective Stadium In 2022
Protective Stadium will be the new home of Birmingham Legion FC beginning with the 2022 season.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham Legion FC announced Tuesday that the soccer team will play the 2022 USL Championship season at Protective Stadium, the new, state-of-the-art venue in Uptown Birmingham.
“Legion FC is excited for this defining moment in our club’s trajectory,” said Jay Heaps, Legion FC President and General Manager. “Protective Stadium is a milestone addition for the city of Birmingham and is a great example of the amazing growth and potential of our city and our club.”
Protective Stadium, which officially opened to the public in early October, can hold up to 45,000 people.

The Legion previously played its first three seasons in the USL at PNC Field (formerly BBVA Field), which the club shared with UAB men's and women's soccer teams, according to WIAT-TV. PNC Field can hold up to 5,000 fans.
The team's season tickets will start at $100 at the new Protective Stadium.

More information on detailed amenities for fans, such as the ones in the exclusive Club Section, single game ticket pricing, and the 2022 USL Championship schedule will be released at a later date.
All fans that purchase four or more season tickets in the Club will receive a game-worn 2021 Legion FC jersey of their choice, while supplies last.
Launched in 2018 as an expansion member of the USL Championship, Birmingham Legion FC is the Magic City’s first and only locally-owned and operated professional soccer franchise.
