Birmingham Restaurant Has Best Fried Chicken In Alabama: Survey

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Fried chicken is a southern table staple, and Alabama certainly has plenty of eateries that serve some delicious fried chicken. But a recent poll by culinary website Eat This Not That ranked a Birmingham restaurant's chicken as the best in Alabama.

The website picked the best fried chicken in each state, using consumer rankings as a metric, and included several varieties and twists on the old southern favorite.

The site chose the sweet tea fried chicken at Saw's Soul Kitchen in Birmingham as the best in the state, saying, "This isn't just any fried chicken sandwich—it's a sweet tea fried chicken sandwich. And if you're bringing the kids along, there are even sweet tea chicken tenders on the kids."

Saw's Soul Kitchen is located at 215 41st St South in Avondale, and is known mostly for its award-winning barbecue, but the sweet tea chicken sandwich gets the nod from Eat This Not That.
