Birmingham Squadron To Make Home Debut Sunday

Birmingham's G-League basketball team will tip off at the BJCC Legacy Arena Sunday against Mexico City.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham's professional basketball team takes its home court for the first time ever Sunday, as the G-League Birmingham Squadron takes on Mexico City at the BJCC Legacy Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.

The Squadron, affiliated with the NBS'a New Orleans Pelicans, are 2-4 going into their home opener. Sunday's game is the first of a 6-game homestand for the Squadron.

Birmingham's top scorers so far this season are Jared Harper (123 points) and Malcolm Hill (110 points.) Zylan Cheatham leads the Squadron in rebounding with 58 boards.

Former University of Alabama star John Petty is on the Birmingham roster, and is averaging 7.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.

Tickets can be purchased on the Squadron's website or at the ticket office at the BJCC.
