Coat, Shoe, Toy Drive Makes Last-Minute Call For Donations
Residents have until the end of the day on Tuesday to sign up to receive donations.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham residents in need of a little extra help around the holidays this year have until the end of the day on Tuesday to sign up to receive donations of toys, shoes or coats.
Residents can sign up at any one of five police department precincts.
Registration can be completed at:- Police Headquarters: 1710 1st Avenue North
- North Precinct: 2600 31st Avenue North
- South Precinct: 1320 19th Street South
- East Precinct: 600 Red Lane Road
- West Precinct: 2236 47th Street Ensley
Police said items will be distributed on a first come, first served basis until no more items are available.

Residents can also continue making donations to the drive through the end of the day Wednesday. Police have asked donations of new and unused coats, shoes and children’s toys.
Donations can be made at the five police locations above, as well as at the city jail located at 425 6th Avenue South.

The drive is hosted by the Birmingham Police Department’s Community Outreach and Public Education Division, 98.7 KISS FM, Youth Towers Incorporated and the Mario Addison Community Partnership.
