- On Tuesday, a mental health crisis center opened in Birmingham. The opening of the Craig Crisis Care Center, one of six centers in the state intended to address a dire service shortage, was marked by Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey. The center is designed to take the pressure off jails and emergency rooms, often the default places to take a person and features 32 temporary observation beds and 16 extended observation beds. - Birmingham Restaurant Week kicks off tomorrow, Jan. 26! The 10-day event will run through Feb. 4, offering deals on multi-course, chef-curated meals and bartender-created cocktails. - Two Birmingham natives received Oscar nominations for their work on the film "Everything Everywhere All at Once."
