Family Of Injured Worker Files Suit Against Manufacturing Company

The family of a man who died after injuries at a Bessemer manufacturing plant has filed a lawsuit in federal court.

BESSEMER, AL — The family of a man who died after injuries sustained while working in a Bessemer manufacturing facility has filed a lawsuit against the company. The widow of Eugene Falconer filed the suit in federal court against Wastequip Manufacturing Company LLC, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.

Montgomery law firm Beasley Allen claims Falconer died due to injuries allegedly caused by a defective tarping system. The incident occurred in 2019.

“Mr. Falconer suffered in a hospital bed for over a year before succumbing to injuries caused by the defendants’ defective equipment installed on a truck he operated for his job,” said attorney Mike Andrews in the BBJ report. “The defendants knew the tarping system’s design was unsafe and put operators’ lives at risk. Our clients seek to hold the defendants accountable and demand that they address the dangers posed by the defective equipment.”
