  1. Three people were hospitalized following a flash fire at ACIPCO in Birmingham. Battalion Chief Tobias Jones confirmed that Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched to 2798 16th Ave. North on a report of an industrial accident and found three victims involved with the flash fire. The victims, who were not ACIPCO employees, were taken to UAB hospital. (AL.com)
  2. Stand-up comedians Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock are coming to Birmingham on Jan. 25. Tickets will go on sale on Friday here; no prices have been released yet. The show will take place at Legacy Arena at BJCC at 7:30 p.m. (WIAT - CBS42.com)
  3. These eight businesses in and around Birmingham have closed since the beginning of December. Closures include Zoe’s Kitchen, Ensley Fairfield Mattress, and Local Source. While we're sad to see these businesses close their doors, luckily, some of the places on this list have other locations available — such as Cookie Dough Magic's Trussville location and Botanica’s Huntsville location.   • On Dec. 20, Inverness Elementary School held an active shooter exercise. The exercise took place during winter break when no elementary-aged students were present. (Shelby County Reporter)

  • Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Department responded to 73,007 emergency incidents in 2022. It was the busiest year in the history of BFRS! (Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Department via Facebook)
