Happy Saturday, people of Birmingham! Here's everything you need to know going on in town today. If you woke up a little chilly this morning, that's because temperatures in many parts of the state got below freezing last night, and will not get much higher than the mid-50s this weekend. The National Weather Service issued a freeze watch for most of the state. Also in the news, Round 2 of the high school football playoffs kicked off last night, and several local teams advanced.
