Hundreds of FedEx packages were discovered in a ravine in Blount County Wednesday.

BLOUNT COUNTY, AL — Between 300 and 400 undelivered FedEx packages were discovered in a ravine in Blount County Wednesday. The discovery was made on River Oak Trail on private property near Hayden, according to the Blount County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Mark Moon said in a statement that his office is still investigating how the packages ended up at the location, but said they had likely been discarded there within 24 hours of their discovery.
FedEx was on the scene Thursday morning, Moon said.

"To everyone in West Blount County missing packages from FedEx, I currently have a deputy on a location where it appears 300-400 boxes of assorted sizes have been thrown off a ravine," Moon said Thursday. "An area manager from FedEx is en route to the scene. Hopefully we will have some answers soon."
Moon said deputies will remain on the scene until all of the packages are removed from the location.
