Inmate Found Dead In State Prison In Jefferson County

A 33-year-old man was found dead in his cell at William Donaldson Correctional Facility in west Jefferson County.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — An inmate was found dead in his cell at William Donaldson Correctional Facility in west Jefferson County Tuesday. Jonathan Clay Click, 33, was discovered unresponsive in his bed, according to an AL.com report.

The discovery was made just after 4 a.m., and Click was pronounced dead shortly after.

The Alabama Department of Corrections’ Intelligence and Investigations Division is investigating Click's death, but the Jefferson County Coroner's Office reports no findings of foul play, according to the AL.com report.
