Up and at 'em, Birmingham! Let's get you all caught up to start this first day of December on an informed note. The Jefferson County Committee of Economic Opportunity laid off 500 employees recently, and now, the remaining 60 or so employees are gone as well, after the organization was asked to relinquish its grant money. Also in the news, UAB is set to perform the first uterus transplant in Alabama. We are fortunate here in Birmingham to have an amazing medical community. Read more below!
