Legion FC's 2022 Home Opener To Be Televised Nationally
Birmingham's Legion FC will not only play its home opener in Protective Stadium this year, but will also have the game televised on ESPN2.

TAMPA, FL — The United Soccer League Thursday announced its 2022 USL on ESPN national telecast schedule, which includes the Legion FC's home opener on ESPN2. The Legion FC will play its 2022 season at its new home in Protective Stadium.
Combined with nearly 700 Championship and League One games on ESPN+, USL fans can watch the entire regular season, playoffs, and finals for both leagues on ESPN platforms.
The opening weekend of the Championship season culminates in Birmingham Legion FC’s first league game at the new downtown Protective Stadium on March 13 as they welcome the Tampa Bay Rowdies, the defending Eastern Conference winners.

This year’s 19-match slate on ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Deportes nearly triples the USL’s linear presence since 2018.

Legion FC will also make an appearance on ESPN Deportes on Friday, April 15 as the club heads to Detroit for the first time to battle expansion Detroit City FC at 6 p.m.
