Midfield High School On Lockdown After Gun Sighting
After reports of someone with a gun on campus, Midfield High School went into lockdown mode Tuesday morning.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Midfield High School has been on lockdown for more than three hours after a report of a person with a gun near campus Tuesday morning.
Chief Jesse Bell of the Midfield Police Department said a call came in just after 7 a.m., that someone was seen near the campus with a rifle.
"This was shortly after students has started arriving, so all of the buses were diverted to another school, and the students that were on campus were locked down at the high school." Bell said. "We searched the area and have not found anything, and will soon dismiss the students who are still on campus."
