Mother Charged With Capital Murder In Infant's Death
A 3-month-old child died Saturday in Birmingham, and the child's mother has been arrested and charged with murder.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The death of a 3-month-old child has led police to charging the child's mother with capital murder. The incident occurred Saturday at 4507 8th Terrace North.
Officers observed a baby, Treymon Jenkins, lying in a baby bed unresponsive and not breathing, according to Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department.
The child was taken to Children's of Alabama where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation determined the child's death was a homicide, and the child's mother, 24-year-old Jasmine Hutcherson, was taken into custody and charged with capital murder.
Hutcherson is being held at Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
