Mountain Brook's Lane Parke Adding Retailers

Phase 2 of Lane Parke in Mountain Brook will begin in July with construction of an additional 44,000 square feet of retail space

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - Phase 2 of Lane Parke in Mountain Brook will begin in July with construction of an additional 44,000 square feet of retail space, according to developer John Evans of Evson Inc. He said a grand opening is set for October 2019.

Lane Parke, which is a total of 27 acres, is made up of the retail section, Lane Parke Apartments and The Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook. Evans said the demolition of an existing shopping center that includes the Rite Aid store is expected to start July 1. In Phase 2 of the development, he said he's hoping to attract out-of-market boutique retailers. The only current tenant of Phase 2 is a Regions Bank.

The grand opening of Phase 1 of the development was celebrated in October 2016. Evans said two retailers and a restaurant will soon begin begin construction in Phase 1. By the end of the week, Evans said another restaurant will be added.

Tulipano, a clothing boutique, is opening in Lane Parke along with Swoops children's clothing, Evans said. Italian restaurant Medici also plans to open in the development. Evans said he was not ready to name the second restaurant.

Construction of Phase 2 was delayed by Rite Aid's lease, which ends on June 30. Rite Aid officials declined to take space in the development, Evans said.
