BIRMINGHAM, AL — This past week saw some major coaching changes at two Class 7A football teams, which also resulted in a staff change at another local school.

Also in the news this week, a hostage situation in Birmingham luckily resulted in no fatalities, but did end with an arrest.

Robert Evans, who has been the defensive coordinator for the Mountain Brook High football team since 2018, was named the new football coach at Vestavia Hills on Thursday. He is a 1999 graduate of the school.
