Teen Arrested In Birmingham Homicide Investigation

BIRMINGHAM, AL — An arrest has been made in the shooting death of 18-year-old De’Undray Nakil Haggard. The shooting occurred Jan. 12 in the Kimbrough Homes Housing Community.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said a 16-year-old suspect was arrested Tuesday and has been charged with capital murder.

Haggard was found shot to death in the 2900 block of John Bryant Road. Mauldin said the investigation suggests that Haggard met the suspect at the location.

"During their interaction the suspect shot the victim multiple times prior to fleeing the location of

foot," Mauldin said.

The 16-year-old is in custody in Jefferson County Jail where he is being held with no bond.
