  1. Superintendent finalists have been announced in the search for Trussville City Schools. The Trussville City Schools Board of Education named five finalists at their meeting on Monday night. The list includes Damar Briggs, Holly Sullivan, Tony Willis, John Barge, and Kevin Maddox. The hunt for a superintendent has been ongoing for several months. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
  2. A suspect in a Montevallo murder was captured by police on Monday evening. The man, who was wanted for involvement with a shooting on Saturday night, was taken into custody in Birmingham without incident. Police identified the man as Corey Broadnax. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
  3. A dispute over the cost of a locksmith job turned fatal. According to Birmingham police, 62-year-old Michael Kermit Murray was charged with the murder of Darnell Michael Puidokas, 36. After performing a key service for Murray at one location, Puidokas had traveled to an ATM location with Murray to retrieve a cash payment when a dispute over the price of the service sparked an altercation that resulted in Puidokas being shot. Officers described the slaying as "senseless." (AL.com)
