Hoover Facing Lawsuit Over Zoning Ordinance

The City of Hoover is being sued by landowners who say the council rezoned their property illegally.

HOOVER, AL - Some landowners who say the City of Hoover re-zones their property illegally two years ago are now suing the city.

The land, between the Patton Creek Shopping Center and Preserve Parkway, was zoned residential and was then rezoned as commercial. The owners had hoped to build apartments on the land, but the city's rezoning action now prevents them from doing so.

The plaintiffs are requesting their land be zoned back to residential, allowing them to place an apartment complex on the 270 acre area.
