52 Positive COVID-19 Cases Reported In Mountain Brook Schools
Mountain Brook Schools reported 52 positive COVID-19 cases during the week ending Sept. 2.
MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Mountain Brook Schools reported a slight increase in positive COVID-19 cases among students last week, reporting 52 positive tests for the week ending Sept. 2. The system reported 48 positive cases the previous week.
In addition to positive cases, the system also reported 86 students absent due to close contact, down from 93 reported the week ending Aug. 27.
Since the start of school, 195 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in the school system, and 253 students absent due to close contact.

"An overwhelming majority of 'close contacts' have been due to family exposure and community activities," school officials said in a recent statement. "We are grateful that very few 'close contacts' have occurred during the school day. We want to thank our teachers, administrators, and parents for helping ensure that our students are safe at school."
