  1. After the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Friday to overturn Roe Vs. Wade, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall wrote in a statement, “The issue of abortion now returns to the states— and the State of Alabama has unequivocally elected to be a protector of unborn life,” adding that Alabama laws prohibiting abortion are "in full effect."   2. A Mountain Brook man, Brad Hassig, was saved from drowning by his ten-year-old sons Bridon and Christian, who miraculously pulled him out of their backyard pool and performed CPR without training after they noticed he had become unconscious. (WBRC)
  3. Homewood is considering changing its form of local government to be more like its neighbors in Mountain Brook and Vestavia Hills, by hiring a city manager. In Mountain Brook, the manager, responsible for day-to-day city operations, is hired by the City Council and reports to both the mayor and council – and can be dismissed by a two-thirds vote.
