- The Birmingham Candy Company announced via social media that it is planning to open a second location in Crestline, with a date still to be determined. "This has been the biggest expansion we’ve done thus far, and we couldn’t be more proud of our amazing team!" the statement reads. (Bham Now)
- School systems across Jefferson County vary greatly in their academic performance, from Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills, Hoover and Homewood all with an "A" grade, to neighboring Birmingham, whose schools have a "C" overall. The entire county's average grade is a "B." (BirminghamWatch)
- The Hoover First United Methodist Church Day School will permanently close, according to a letter, after it was reported that the day care center used hot sauce as a punishment for students. (CBS 42)
