Here are the top three stories in Mountain Brook today:
- Police are investigating an overnight break-in at Ritch's Pharmacy on Cahaba Road on Tuesday night, which left the store's front doors shattered. (WBRC)
- The Mountain Brook boys' and girls' soccer teams are hoping to follow up on their achievements in 2022, when the boys won the Class 6A championships and the girls made it to the playoffs. The girls' team is losing 10 senior players from last year, so there's lots of shoes to fill. They both play in an area with Pell City, Shades Valley and Woodlawn. (Village Living)
- Here's a look back at the life and career of the late Mountain Brook mayor, Terry Oden, who passed away on Jan. 10. "He was extremely proud of this community. Although he was not a native, [Mountain Brook] became his adopted home," said City Manager Sam Gaston. He also recalled that "One of his hobbies was buying and collecting, [along with some friends] old fire trucks and restoring them." (Village Living)
