Canterbury Road To Remain Closed Until January
As the city continues with its infrastructural improvements, Canterbury Road will remain closed until January.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — As the city continues with its infrastructural improvements, Canterbury Road will remain closed until January. The decision, approved at the Sept. 25 city council meeting, is an extension of a month-long road closure to gauge the potential for the city's roundabouts project.
The closure, which extends on Canterbury Road from Cahaba Road to Village Circle, is the result of a traffic study conducted to measure the feasibility of a roundabout. The intended effect is to allow traffic counts to be taken to justify the roundabouts project, for which the city is receiving federal funds.
While the closure has succeeded in alleviating some traffic, the City Council has receive feedback from residents indicating increased traffic in Mountain Brook Village, which has been partially caused by construction on Lane Park and Overhill roads.
