City Manager Sam Gaston Honored By National Organization

The International City/County Management Association recognized Mountain Brook city manager Sam Gaston in its annual awards.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Cmountain Brook city manager Sam Gaston was recently honroed for his leadership by the International City/County Management Association. Gaston was selected as the 2021 recipient of the Award for Career Development.

The ICMA, an association of local government professionals dedicated to creating and supporting thriving communities throughout the world, recognizes individual achievement that may have been accomplished through tenure with a number of local governments or organizations.

Gaston has served as City Manager of the City of Mountain Brook since June, 1993. Prior to his appointment in Mountain Brook, he served as City Manager of Powder Springs, Georgia and held municipal positions in Anniston, Gulf Shores and Decatur.
