- One person has died in a crash on U.S. 280 Thursday night, according to Vestavia Hills Police. The incident took place at Dolly Ridge and Cahaba River roads. Mountain Brook Police were also on the scene. (abc 3340)
- Alabama health officials are raising the alarm during an increase in flu cases that have taken three lives in the state, including one child, the Alabama Department of Public Health reports. Ritch's Pharmacy in Mountain Brook said its seen a recent uptick in flu vaccines. (WIAT - CBS42.com)
- Alabama is planning to open electric car charging stations across the state, thanks to appropriations by the State Legislature. So far it looks like none are in the immediate vicinity of Mountain Brook or Birmingham. (WVTM 13)
