MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Mountain Brook's Dorians dance team wanted to make sure the Minor High School dance team would get a chance to compete at the national dance competition in Orlando, so they helped make it happen.
The Dorians presented Minor’s dance team Wednesday with a $1,700 check to support their efforts in offsetting costs for the upcoming National Dance Team Championship in Orlando in February.
The two school’s dance teams met and became close this past summer at the UDA Camp then had the chance to reconnect a few weeks ago at the Pell City Marching Invitational.

In Pell City, the Dorians heard that Minor’s dance team is working to reach nationals next semester. Dorian team members and parents jumped at the opportunity to support Minor and raised the money themselves in just a few weeks. The Dorians' donation helped Minor eclipse their fundraising goal for the trip.
Heather Fitch, the Dorians’ faculty sponsor, presented Wykeria Clark, the Minor dance team coach, with the check. The two squads then spent time catching up and discussing their upcoming performances as well as their trip to nationals in February.
