  1. Mountain Brook High School's football team beat Minor with a final score of 14 to 49 on Thursday night. Quarterback John Colvin threw four touchdowns in the first half, leaving the Spartans' team undefeated this season. (AL.com)
  2. A man, James Cleveland Harvill Jr., was recently found dead at the boarding house where he lived in Birmingham. He had multiple past addresses in and around Mountain Brook. Police officials were soliciting the public's help to locate his family. (ABC 3340)
  3. Mountain Brook Schools Superintendent Dr. Dicky Barlow has been named as a finalist for the Alabama state-wide title of superintendent of the year. The winner will be announced on November 1. Barlow has served in his role since 2009, before which he was Mountain Brook High School's principle. (Village Living)

  • Thursday's football game saw a collaboration between Mountain Brook and Minor's cheerleading teams (the Dorians and Tigerettes), who put on a dance together. (Twitter)
