1. Hall of Fame high school football coach Don Creasy died in traffic accident on Tuesday in Sheffield. At the end of his career, he coached Mountain Brook's team for four seasons. (AL.com)
2. The Southeastern Conference will hold its basketball media days on Oct. 18 and 19 at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Mountain Brook. The first day will put a spotlight on the league's women's programs, with men on the second. (The Advocate)
