Here are the top three stories in Mountain Brook today:
- Faith leaders from Mountain Brook and neighboring towns are leading their communities in prayer following last week's shooting in Vestavia Hills that left three people dead. Becky Bridges, associate rector at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, said “We are brokenhearted this day, but we know in our brokenness, you are with us. In these cracks in our hearts, your love overflows to our community.” (Village Living)
- Funeral services for the three victims are scheduled to take place on Wednesday at St. Stephen's, and will also be live-streamed. The three victims are Walter “Bart” Rainey, 84, from Irondale; Sarah “Sharon” Yeager, 75, from Pelham; and Jane Pounds, 84, from Hoover. (AL.com)
- A 17-year-old is in stable condition after a shooting occurred on Saturday afternoon in Birmingham, police said. The altercation took place at 900 block of 3rd Street North. (WVTM13)
