1. Lauren Sklar, a rising Junior at Auburn University, is a graduate of Mountain Brook High School. A marketing student, she's spending her summer interning for the Birmingham "planning and redevelopment firm" Orchestra Partners, creating social media and branding content. (Bham Now)
2. Here's another local story out of The World Games: A Hoover resident and University of Alabama at Birmingham graduate instructor, Matthew McKenzie, participated in the games by competing in jiu-jitsu. (Village Living)
