Jefferson County Sheriff's Office: One Dead And Two Others Injured In Shooting

At approximately 7:55 on Friday, November 19, 2021, Jefferson County Deputies were called to the 2300 block of 5th Street North West in Centerpoint on reports of multiple people shot. Once deputies arrived at the scene, they found a 23-year-old male deceased and another adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.  A third adult subject, who had also been shot, reportedly drove himself to the Centerpoint Fire Station on Chalkville Road.  Both wounded subjects were transported to UAB Hospital.  Their condition is currently unknown.

According to reports, two of the subjects were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical.  Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
