Junior High Cross Country Team Sweeps Metro Championships

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — For the first time in 11 years, the Mountain Brook Junior High's boys and girls cross country teams captured championships in the same year.

Both teams dominated the Metro South Championship meets last week, as coach Randy Stephens and his teams of more than 130 runners completed the season undefeated.

MBJH eighth grader Braden Little finished first overall in the boys meet with a time of 11:18.09. Joseph Spencer, Sam Eagan and Brooks Bazemore also finished in the top 10.

Georgia Jane Stuckey finished first in the girls meet, posting a winning time of 12:56.06. Kate Martin, Kayman Hamilton and Addie Bazemore joined Stuckey in the top 10 for MBJH.
