Leaf Collection Schedule Released For Mountain Brook

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — The latest leaf pick-up schedule for Waste Management has been released, as fall has been in full swing for almost a month now and leaves are beginning to scatter onto lawns.

Waste Management and the City of Mountain Brook released the following leaf schedule:

• If your garbage collection day is Monday, leaf collection is Nov.1 – Nov. 4; Nov. 26 – Dec. 1; Dec. 27 – Dec. 31; Jan. 31 – Feb. 4

• If your garbage collection day is Tuesday, leaf collection is Nov. 5 – Nov. 9; Dec. 2 – Dec. 7; Jan. 3 – Jan. 7; Feb. 7 – Feb.11

• If your garbage collection day is Wednesday, leaf collection is Nov. 10 – Nov. 13; Dec. 8 – Dec.13; Jan. 10 – Jan.14; Feb. 14 – Feb.18

• If your garbage collection day is Thursday, leaf collection is Nov. 15 – Nov. 18; Dec. 14 – Dec. 18; Jan. 17 – Jan. 21; Feb. 21 – Feb. 24

• If your garbage collection day is Friday, leaf collection is Nov. 19 – Nov. 24; Dec. 20 – Dec. 24; Jan. 24 – Jan. 28; Feb. 25 – March 1

"Please have your leaves at the curb prior to the beginning of a round,” city manager Sam Gaston said in a statement Monday. “Please only place leaves at the curb for this collection, and do not include items such as branches, rocks, or bags within the leaf piles. Also, please do not have your leaf piles staged in close proximity to the storm drains.”

Gaston said if leaves are not out prior to the date of your scheduled collection, then service will take place during the next scheduled round for that area. "Leaves brought out after the beginning of the final round must be bagged for collection," Gaston said. "If you choose to bag your leaves, then your bagged leaves will be serviced on your regularly scheduled trash collection day."
