Here are the top three stories in Mountain Brook today:

  1. Sarah Mouyal, a graduate of Mountain Brook High School, was the artistic director for the 2022 horror film "The Menu," which was filmed in Savannah, Georgia. Mouyal gave Bham Now a look inside the creative process. "This film is really unique. When I read the script, I just had a feeling about it, it was different. The whole concept of the mad chef and kind of making jabs at foodies and food-obsessed people was so funny," she said. (Bham Now)
  2. The Birmingham Water Works utility said that the area's drinking water is safe, following multiple lawsuits filed in November against chemical companies it says may have contaminated the water supply with cancer-causing chemicals. (WBRC)
  3. State agencies are forming a task force to determine what regulatory or legal changes should be made to prevent future fires like the one at the Moody landfill, which brought smoke all the way to Mountain Brook. (AL.com)
