  1. Mountain Brook Elementary School has collected over 1,100 boxes of cereal that will be donated to Johnson Elementary in Pinson, Alabama, in celebration of World School Milk Day. (Mountain Brook Elementary Lancer PTO via Facebook)
  2. The "high-intensity workout gym" Burn Boot Camp, which has locations in Hoover and Homewood, is now expanding to Meadow Brook — and considering expanding to Mountain Brook in the future. The Boot Camp is primarily geared towards women. (Hoover Sun)
  3. Firefighters were fighting several wildfires in Shelby County on Thursday, one of which grew from 5 to 200 acres over the course of the day. Authorities say they are hard to contain due to weather conditions. Two of them were put out early Friday morning. The Alabama Forestry Commission says to expect smokey conditions in the vicinity of the blazes over the next several days. (6 WBRC)
