- Rica Hecker, a graduate of Mountain Brook High School, won a bronze medal this summer in the 2022 U.S. Figure Skating National Theatre on Ice Competition, which took place in Wichita, Kansas, while representing the Birmingham Figure Skating Club. (Village Living)
- Mountain Brook High School's football team regular fall season ends on Oct. 27 after a marathon play with four games in four weeks. The Spartans are hoping to make it into the playoffs for the 7th consecutive year. (Village Living)
- A suspect from Shelby County has been charged for the murder of two women inside a Hoover apartment. A motive hasn't yet been determined, according to police reports. Court records show the suspect, 21-year-old Daxton Elliot Keith, has previously pleaded guilty for robbery. (AL.com)
