- Landon Freeman, who sometimes goes by the stage name "Pixellay," is a rising senior at Mountain Brook High School. With a passion for computer science and music, many of the tracks he's produced are already starting to get recognition at only 17-years-old. His work was featured on an episode of the Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso, as well as twice on Birmingham Mountain Radio. (Village Living)
- Wednesday we reported that Christopher Alexander would represent Alabama at the Special Olympics USA in Orlando this summer. Also representing Alabama will be the Homewood-based Exceptional Foundation’s volleyball team, which participates in joint practices in Mountain Brook. (thehomewoodstar.com)
- Virginia Bugg, a resident of Homewood, was given the 2022 Library Champion Award by the Jefferson County Public Library Association. The decade-long volunteer said at an award ceremony, "I have always thought of libraries as holy places because the freedom of expression through good books is a holy thing to me, and public libraries help preserve that freedom."
