MBHS Student Chosen As Senator Richard Shelby's Page
MBHS student Howell Fell was picked by Sen. Richard Shelby's office to serve as the senator's page.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — A Mountain Brook High School students is getting involved in politics, as Howell Fell was recently chosen as one of 30 students nationwide selected as a U.S. Senate Page for this semester. Fell will serve Sen. Richard Shelby's office.
Fell's duties will include assisting Sen. Shelby throughout the Senate, delivering documents, correspondence and legislative material within the Congressional complex, answering phone calls for the senator’s office, carrying bills and amendments to the desk and various other duties as assigned.
As a 17-year-old, Fell would normally be in Mountain Brook High School classrooms or hanging out in the mall with his friends during free period.

“I’m going to miss the football games and spending time with my friends,” he said. But Fell realizes this is an opportunity that doesn’t come along for every high school student.
“This will help me out in the college application process and this experience will translate into lots of places later in life,” Fell said. “I’m one of just 30 students nationwide selected for this so I realize the significance.”

Howell departs Mountain Brook on September 12 and will return in January 2022.
