- On Thursday night, Jun. 15, the Mountain Brook Police Department announced the Special Needs Alert Program (SNAP), a new program that aims to help vulnerable people in the city. In the event of an emergency, the new program should help the department better serve people with special needs. There is no age limit for this program. To sign up, parents or caregivers can fill out a form on the department's website under the "Parent Resources" tab. Send the completed form with a current photograph of the registrant to Officer Thomas at thomasm@mtnbrook.org. (ABC 3340)
- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Jun. 16 at around 3:00 p.m. at a mall in nearby Fairfield. The incident, at Western Hills Mall on Aaron Aronov Drive, resulted in one death. As of Jun. 16, no other information has been released. (WVTM 13)
- On Jun. 19, a five-week sewer project is set to begin in Mountain Brook Village. There will be road closures and parking will be affected due to the construction. Sidewalks will remain open and detour signs will be in place. (Mountain Brook Police Department via Twitter)
