  1. At a recent Mountain Brook City Council meeting, council members discussed how to best address flooding as the deadline for the 2023 fiscal year budget draws closer. Council President Virginia Smith stressed, however, that the situation is not nearly as severe as in neighboring Birmingham. Separately, the council also learned that US 280 will be extended from four to six lanes from Hollywood Boulevard to Interstate 459. (Village Living)
