1. The curriculum of Mountain Brook's schools is becoming one of the main topics up for debate ahead of the August 23 elections for three Council Member positions, given that members of the Council vote on appointments to school boards. Some residents think a focus on schools is too narrow, given the large amount of responsibilities before the council. Village Living interviewed all the candidates. (Village Living)
2. In August 2020 a Mountain Brook family founded the nonprofit 'Libby's Friends,' named after their daughter, with the goal of providing financial support to families with children who have disabilities. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
