Here are the top three stories today in Mountain Brook:

1. The Kiwanis Club of Homewood-Mountain Brook has recognized two Homewood community members for excellence in community service. They are the late Sammy Graphos, owner of Sam’s Super Samwiches, who passed away in October 2021, and Deborah Fout, the recently retired director of the Homewood Public Library. (thehomewoodstar.com)
2. Alabama, like many parts of the country, is experiencing a shortage in baby formula, which may lead to lack of its availability in grocery and convenience stores. The Alabama Department of Health recommends using donor banks, and says it's a bad idea to dilute the formula with water. (CBS 42)
3. Birmingham Public School teacher Reggie White was named Alabama teacher of the year Friday. He teaches at Booker T. Washington K-8 school in the Titusville neighborhood. (CBS 42)
