- Yakov Lyublinskiy, a fitness instructor at the Levite Jewish Community Center in Mountain Brook since 2004, is concerned for his family back in Ukraine, with Russia's ongoing invasion. Lyublinsky immigrated to the United States in 1997 due to anti-semitism. His wife's sister recently fled from Kyiv. (Village Living)
- WVTM 13, reporting from Mountain Brook, says that gas prices this holiday weekend in Central Alabama are at an average of $4.30 per gallon. That's $1.50 more than they were at the same time last year. Prices may decrease following Memorial Day, but are expected to rise again closer to July 4th. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
- The Woolley Institute for Spoken-Language Education (known as WISE) is moving to a permanent location in the Meadowbrook area. It had previously operated out of churches in Mountain Brook. The nonprofit WISE provides therapy services for children that are hard of hearing, deaf, or blind. (280 Living)
