Mountain Brook Participating In Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday takes place the week after the Thanksgiving shopping rush as a way to encourage generosity and giving.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — The City of Mountain Brook will be celebrating Giving Tuesday this year on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Giving Tuesday takes place the week after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday as a way to encourage generosity and giving following the holiday shopping rush.

The event was created by 92Y in 2012 and serves as an unofficial kickoff to the holiday season, when many people and businesses are looking to finalize their yearly donations.

Mayor Stewart Welch made an official proclamation earlier this year declaring Nov. 28 as Giving Tuesday Mountain Brook.
